Top Tens! - Eyeliners

Well, let me start by saying that I am not much of a liquid/gel/cream liner girl. I have hooded eyes that don't allow for any cat flicks so I don't really use those types of liners often. Also,  all of the first 4 on this list are about equal. It was REALLY hard to put those 4 in any sort of order.

All prices are listed in US dollars according to the Ulta website unless otherwise noted.

Shades: 1. Cobalt, 2. Black , 3. Iridescent Iris, 4.Rose Gold, 5. Ultra Black

1) Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner $20
These are great for staying power. They are my favorite for use on the waterline. They are very pigmented, very smooth, and are automatic pencils that don't need sharpening. Despite the name, they set and don't move. There are currently 28 shades and they seem to come out with a few different colors with the different seasons.

2) Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pens $12 (from the Pixi Beauty website)
I love, love, love these liners. They have incredible staying power. They glide on as smoothly as the name suggests, set quickly, and will not budge after. There are 12 colors and these are traditional pencils. The black shade, Black Noir, is the deepest, inkiest black I've ever owned. They stay put on my waterline just as long as the Stila liners. The only reason they're not number 1 is because Stila has more shades to pick from.

3) Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal $4.49
These liners are awesome and inexpensive. They are also very pigmented and creamy. They come in 10 shades and are traditional pencils. Some of the colored liners, like the Deep Blue and Purple shades are not as pigmented as they could be but they are buildable and glide on so nicely that it's easy to do so. And they're waterproof.

4)Jane Cosmetics Water-Resistant Eyeliner $6
There are quite a few color options in this range. They last a long time. Just don't get the Violet one. It plain sucks, which is strange considering the other 10 colors I have are the same: fantastic, pigmented, smooth. These go on sale at Ulta all the time too.

5)Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner $10.95
This is the only liquid liner I really use. It comes in pen form and there are 3 different shades. I wouldn't suggest getting the regular Black shade if you're looking for a true black, as it's pretty much a charcoal grey. The  Ultra Black is a nice true black. I use Brown often for a crisp line that's really close to my lash line when I'm creating a brown smoky eye, which is a go to look for me.

Shades: 6. Junkie, 7. Midnight in Paris, 8.Warm Nude Trio, 9. Olive, 10. Danielle - Teal (not that you can tell)
6) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils $20
There are 40 shades! 40! I have about 15 of the shades and all but 1 are very pigmented (poo on you Ransom, which I don't see on the site anymore). There's brights, metallics, shimmers, neutrals, mattes, basically any color you could want.

7) Essence Gel Eyeliner $3.99
This stuff is silky smooth, goes on like butter, and then sets to a not going anywhere finish. My top choice for a basic black gel or cream style liner.

8) Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip Eye Liner Trios $11.99 (for 3!)
These are smooth and pigmented like all the others on this list and would rank a lot higher if not for the way they are packaged. They're put in sets according to what would look good for specific eye colors. So basically if you buy more than one trio, chances are you'll end up with a few duplicate shades. For example, I have bought 3 trios and have 3 "different" blacks that are not noticeably different.

9) Ulta Automatic Eyeliner $8
I like these! They are not good enough for my watery waterline but they are great for smudging and the lash line. There are 22 shades and they go on sale at Ulta for $2 all.the.time.

10) NYX Gel Liner & Smudger in Danielle - Teal $8.99
Okay, I flat out like this liner for the color. I like the formula as well but I LOVE the color. It's a bright, shimmery teal that leans more green than blue. I use this as a pop of color on my lower lash line. Or, when I don't really feel like doing up my eyes, but I still want to make a statement, I'll use a flesh colored eye shadow and line my eyes with this color. And all 5 shades can also be smudged on the lid as a shadow. It sets and won't budge.
